I love capturing Senior Sessions!! They have become some of my favorite sessions to do. Shea contacted me a few weeks back and as most #2020seniors she missed out on so much. Prom, Graduation, and getting to say goodbye to her friends. This is definitely a historical year for these Seniors. I truly hope we never have to go through something like this again.
Her session was my first session after Quarantine. I was so ready to be behind the camera again. It was also really hard to not shake hands or hug my clients. I am such a hugger and this has taken me some getting used to.
Heritage Square, Phoenix Arizona
When Shea told me she really wanted to do a session with an Urban feel to it, I knew I had to take her to downtown Phoenix. She also asked for green and flowery backgrounds and I knew Heritage Square was known for its beautiful backgrounds. I had been wanting to do a session there for a long time. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint. I really was almost eerie seeing downtown Phoenix so desolate. For us, it actually was an opportunity to explore Heritage Square. We followed social distancing guidelines at all times. Fortunately, as an outdoor photographer we have the ability to have long lenses that allow us to do this. We started at the second story of one of the houses that has an awesome wood bridge with a slatted wood awning that allowed the sunlight to glow and come through so perfectly. Parking Garage Rooftop
Shea really wanted to incorporate her Jeep in her Senior Photos. The parking garage next to Heritage Square was perfect for these shots. It also gave me a chance to capture some of the Skyrises in the background. These Jeep shots were awesome and some of my favorites from her Session. This gave her session that urban feel that she wanted. if you want to have your car in your senior sessions, i recommend going to a rooftop of a parking structure. most parking garage rooftops are empty. this makes for a perfect opportunity to photograph you vehicle by itself with no other cars visible. if you are in a downtown area then this also allows for views of SKY RISES.
These images were taking down by the Victorian Houses at heritage square. The steps and landscape are beautiful and make for some amazing backdrops.
